Hi Liz
I have looked back to 1742 for a marriage of a Rees to a Rachel.....in
Llandilo fawr, cannot find one.
I did find the baptism from the parish register of Llandilo fawr
1759 20th? December Taliaris hamlet
Rowland son Rees Rowland and Rachel
looks like patronimics were in use.......
the above are not indexed but are from the parish registers of Llandilo
fawr....

Subject: [CMN-L] Rowland Rees, Llandilofawr
Hello List
Is there anyone out there who knows where I can find out some information
(possibly other than using an LDS library) on a possible Llandilofawr
marriage
pre- 1754 between Rees Rowland & Rachel unknown and burials from around
the
same time?
I have been looking for a baptism of Rowland Rees b.c. 1760 (death cert.
March 1847, age 87) throughout Glamorgan, based on the fact that he gave
Glamorgan as his county of birth in 1841. Someone on the Glamorgan list
pointed out
the following baptism entry on the IGI and I would like to be able to
either
discount this Rowland - or not!
Rowland REES, baptised Llandilofawr 1759, parents Rees ROWLAND & Rachel,
possible siblings also baptised there are Elisabeth REES (1755) and Harry
REES
(1757).
Many thanks,
Liz
