Subject: [CMN-L] 19th Century Newspapers
I'm still out here too - but I've been a bit engrossed.
I went with a friend to the GFHS open day a couple of weeks ago. After
chatting to the guy from Cardiff Library, I found out that I can access the
British Newspaper Library 19th Century British newspapers on-line.
I've found several articles about people named NURSE in the Western Mail
(for example, one was a tub-thumping Liberal, one won some prizes at a local
flower show) and now have to try and find out how they fit into my tree.
Very exciting.
I'm lucky - I work at a University that has a subscription, but I was told
that a number of local libraries also subscribe, so it's worth asking.
A word of warning: You will get distracted by all the other interesting
articles and adverts ;-)
Best wishes
Denise
PS Well done Scarlets on Saturday - I was there!
