HI HELENS heres a little snippet of interest for you.
For many years there were no police officers in the parish ,so the parish
vestry appointed or nominated constables to do the job ,without pay or
reward. These were farmers and the like.
In 1867 Tynpullau and cwmcothy hamlet WILLIAM DAVIES was nominated for the
job of constable.

Hi,
This may be too much to ask, but I don't have access to the 1861 Census.
I'm trying to locate a John Davies who would've been aged 38 on the 1861
census.
On the 1871 census, he was living at Llwynderiad, Cayo. I do know that he
would have lived in the census areaof the Cwm Cothy Hamlet. He would be
unmarried and a servant/lab.
Can anyone help please? Many many thanks if you can.
Regards
Helen
