Hard to speculate on an individuals doings. The church ruled with fierce
powers in those times,so its hardly likely an appointed constable would see
fit to look the other way, when a wrong has occured.
Then again these things were happening lots in those days, the court records
are full of such warrents.
The history of CAIO is online to read ,along with the parish records cds on
offer.
I noticed your earlier postings last year enquiring of the DAVIES family
,the local archives records may hold something on the family ,its worth
looking .regards JOHN

John,
Thanks for that info, this William Davies may have been the brother of
John, who knows?
What would there job be exactly?? I'm trying to locate this John Davies
because for some unknown
reason, he was living with my ancestors in 1881 and 1891 and then was put
down as a 'father' on
my ancestors marriage and they looked after him, albeit her birth said
illigitimate and the family
rumours were she was the child of gentry and she also inherited money after
this John's death.
So I'm rummaging!? Could William as an officer helped to keep the secret?
Regards
Helen

HI HELENS heres a little snippet of interest for you.
For many years there were no police officers in the parish ,so the parish
vestry appointed or nominated constables to do the job ,without pay or
reward. These were farmers and the like.
In 1867 Tynpullau and cwmcothy hamlet WILLIAM DAVIES was nominated for the
job of constable.
