Thank you Pauline, that would be a great help.
William John Davies' father Joseph Davies, a mason, is in the 1901, (born
Mydrim) 1891, (born St Clears) 1881 (born Llanwinnio). I think he is the
same man each time as he has Elizabeth,or Eliza as his wife and her
birthplace is given as Llanfihangel in 1901 and 1881 (St Clears in 1891).
In 1871 there is a Joseph Davies, mason, living with his parents Joseph and
Mary Davies in St Clears, Joseph Davies senior a mason. The young Joseph is
said to have been born in Mydrim circa 1849/50. I cannot find the family in
1861 but in 1851 they are in Mydrim, the young Joseph, aged 2, born in
Mydrim.
I was hoping to find the baptism of William John in St Clears circa 1884 to
prove that he is the son of Joseph and Elizabeth, as there are three or four
possible William J's born in that area in that period, and I don't want to
apply for the wrong certificate, and continue researching possibly the wrong
family.
With thanks again, Moyna

Hi Moyna
If they were baptised in one of the non-conformist chapels it is very
unlikely that there are records to show........very few chapels have
existing records....most do not even record burials when they even have a
fairly large burial ground....
I will see if I can find any burials in Bethlehem Pwlltrap St Clears
parish.....
Do you have the father in earlier census returns.....where and when did he
state he was born, perhaps I can see if they are in the parish
church......What was Florence Rose's surname?
