Hi Pauline
Could you please look and see if you can find marriages for :
Mary Ann Griffiths married John (David) Rees in Llanelli in 1870
Henry Griffiths married Margaret griffiths in Llanelli in 1880
No hurry as I am off to Spa in Belgium tomorrow until Sunday. When I get back I will have
a look at the Pembrey records.
I noticed that you have been in contact with John in Deal, I also live in sunny Deal.
Regards
David

Hi Pauline
Thank you for your help.
It appears from the emails I have been receiving that you do a lot of work
for people researching their genealogy in the Camarthenshire area. I am
sure it is appreciated.
I see that you have indexed the Llanelli marriages and burials, do you do
look ups if I give you names and dates?
Also, is it possible to buy the Pembrey CD?
Regards
David

Hi David
I thought that I had answered this.......but cannot see it...
I have indexed Llanelli and Pembrey parish registers, but not the later
ones
for the baptisms...Pembrey is very well documented and on CD........
Must have been an interesting job in those times with all the smuggling
and
soforth......

Hi Pauline
Thank you for your reply.
As I mentioned in my original email, Henry was a Coastguard and moved
around
a lot. His first daughter, Ruth was born in Portland, Dorset. His last 3
sons were born in Ramsgate, Kent, but I have been unable to find their
baptisms, so maybe they wern't, as you suggested, baptised.
The 1851 and later census gives the birth place as Pembrey for Emma born
1849, Isabella born 1851 and Henry Alexander born 1853. But the census
also
shows that Mary Ann and Elizabeth, who were baptised in St Elli, were born
in Pembrey.
Do you know if there are any transcriptions available for Llanelli or
Pembrey?
Regards
David

Hi David
Perhaps they did not baptise all the children.....were all the children
born
in Llanelli.....there were quite a number of non-conformist churches in
Llanelli.......and there are no records for them after 1837, unless you
are
lucky.....
