Hi Bob,
A very likely explanation is that an earlier child or children died. If born
and died between censuses there would be no record. My grandparents' first
child was born in 1896 and died in 1900, so there is no census record of
him. His gravestone is in the family plot. Hope this helps.
Elizabeth

Subject: [CMN-L] HELP
Hello List
I have a problem with my Davies family consisting of the parents John and
Margaret which Margaret it is and the children David born about 1861,
Benjamin born 1864 and Mary Ann born about 1869. I have a Benjamin Davies
birth certificate for 1864 naming the mother as Margaret Edwards . This
seems strange as John Davies married Margaret Edwards in 1855 and the
first child was born about 1861. I have searched all sites without finding
a birth for any children. Does anyone have any information on this family.
Thank you in Advance
Bob
