Hello Barbara
Have I given you an answer to this question? I know that you and Pat have
been trying to establish a link - and I told her that these were two
different people - one snag I can't remember if I did get the baptism - I
have made a note that I could only find a baptism in Llanelli not in Kidwelly
- the Llanelli one was as follows:
1-4-1837 - George son of Thomas and Mary Phillips Old Castle - cooper
There was not one in Kidwelly - what did I tell you in my e-mail?? Unless
you come back to me straight away I do not keep all the information I gather
(I should I suppose) or I would not be able to get in this office!!
I did give you the marriage of George Phillips to Hannah didn't I - I've got
it written down here on Pat's e-mails, and I have written that there was no
baptism Kidwelly P.C.
Here is the marriage if I did not give it to you:
ST Ishmaels Parish Church 6th April 1860
George Phillips full age, bachelor, blacksmith, abode Llansaint, son of David
Phillips blacksmith and Hannah Phillips full age, spinster, abode The
Vicarage St Ishmaels, father John Phillips, taylor.
I believe I looked for a baptism in St Ishmaels for William Phillips aged
6mth old in 1861 census but he was not there in the baptisms.
I found a possible marriage for David Phillips and Hannah - find below
25-12-1827 Kidwelly Parish Church
David Phillips and Hannah Thomas - Kidwelly
Let me know if I gave you this information - to find George at home you would
probably have to view the 1851 census for Kidwelly - father and son were
blacksmiths so it should not be too hard to find them.
Get back to me on this one - sorry I've been so long in responding - I'll
check the CD shortly - silly excuse really, but when my hard drive lost
everything it had to be reloaded and not everything was put back on because
of space - but most is on now, so come back to me and I'll have a look for
you.
Speak soon Barbara
