Capel Sul
Cause began: some time around 1780 when Mr Davies of Tynewydd, Llanedi
(1775-1806) came to preach here.
Chapels: 1785 with a graveyard; 1831
Location: Bridge street, village and parish of Kidwelly
Branch of: Mr Davies of Llanedi organized this cause, but by 1787 it had
joined with Penygraig, Llandyfaelog to call a minister, This congregation
was sufficiently strong to call its own minister in 1794.

WESLEYAN METHODISTS
Bethesda
Cause began: Wesley preached here as early as 1779. A society was formed
about the same time. Later a welsh society was formed and both societies
worshiped together for many years.
Chapels: 1816; 1865
Location: Town and parish of Kidwelly
Branch of: Part of the Carmarthen Welsh Circuit until about 1865 when it was
included as part of the Carmarthenshire English Circuit. In 1885 it became
part of the newly formed Llanelly circuit.
