Hi Gareth
Thanks for the e-mail - the books which I took the extracts from are:
Looking Around Llanelli with Harry Davies and
A Llanelli Chronicle compiled by Gareth Hughes
Gareth Hughes also edited Looking around Llanelli.
In Looking around Llanelli book there a a large write up on Adulum - this
Chapel used to baptise the people in the River Lliedi where the Minister
used to 'dip' his congregation into the river to baptise them - this went on
until a baptismal font was erected in 1981 which was built in the grounds
alongside the vestry.
No, Adulum has not been indexed or are there any available Monumental
Inscriptions - Richard and myself were up there a while back to have a look
around - there are some interesting gravestones there. Most of the earlier
rows of burials are illegible, or the stones have just crumbled away.
Merry Christmas
regards
Pauline James

What was the book containing information about Adulam? My 2x g-grandfather
David JONES, a collier, was a member there in the mid 1800's and quite a few
ancestors are buried in the cemetery up the hill behind Adulam. Also, do
you know if anyone has recorded/indexed the MIs?
