Hi Pauline
I have found mail order sources (including those in the US) for OS maps
through
http://www.ordsvy.gov.uk/home/index.html if anyone else on the list
might be looking.
RE: My Rhoda Newberry, I do not yet know any of her relatives' names, so I
would not know where to begin. Her birth certificate will be one of my
future endeavors.
I have not yet used St Catherine's Indexes, so any advice would be welcome &
perhaps useful to others on the list. Would these really be on hand in
larger US libraries? Cincinnati has a very good library system. There is
also an LDS FHC near Cincinnati, but I have not ventured there yet...so
little time. I assume what I will find will be the identifying indices with
which I would then contact St Catherine's house to get copies? Or is there
another way? In general, is this a more direct route than, say, writing a
few letters/emails to RO's where one suspects the event took place (this is
how I found my ggrandfather's birth certificate, although I did have his
exact birthdate), or does that tend to annoy the RO folks?
Thanks again for all your help
