I don't really expect you to be a mind reader! I intended to add details
but
must have pressed the send button before I did. Put it down to this
sudden
rush of sun we've had! Here are the details.
John Hughes father signalman
Mary A. Hughes mother
Thomas Henry Hughes son b. 1870, Haverfordwest Pembs.
(There may of course have been other siblings but I don't know of any
yet.)
I have the marriage certificate for Thomas Henry Hughes. That tells me
that
in 1892 he resided at (and here I just have to make an attempt at
reading
the
very elaborate script) East/Cart Pett/Pell/Pelt, Haverfordwest. I
don't
know
if that looks like anything you might have in the census. Of course,
that
is
not necessarily where they lived in 1881 but you never know your
luck!
As to where the corn merchants fit in...that's anyone's guess at the
moment!
