Hello Ron
Here are a few snippets about your Dalton family in Pembrey.
In 1700, Pembrey parish was situated in the Commote of Kidwelly, and divided
into three hamlets, Llan (Pembrey village), Penrhyn and Llandyry, and that
Pembrey amounted to about twenty houses. It was noted that Penybedd was the
mansion of Charles Dalton, and Caldicot the home of James Dalton
The Pembrey Vaughan estate was administered by agents, and at least three
generations of the capable and loyal Dalton family were in charge during the
late Vaughans and early Ashburnhams.
The vicar of Pembrey (1700-1715) made the following entry in Pembrey Church's
Burial register of 1701-1771 '- 'Charles Dalton, Gentleman, my dear friend,
died around 5 o'clock in the afternoon of 20th October, bruied around 6
o'clock on 23rd October 1707.
A Dalton epitaph is in Pembrey Churchyard.
Hope this helps - there is so much on the Dalton family of Pembrey.
