Hi Pauline
I have used the CFHS online indexes, I tried the main burial index for the
Lewis Davies burial 1828 but it was not on that, you have helped with
spotting his burial and I looked up the Llandilofawr digital burials and
eureka, it ties in with the family abode 'Bank, Llandilo', It looks like
Benjamin was a bailiff and a labourer on his son Benjamins marriage 1854 his
father is recorded as a labourer.
Perhaps like a seasonal job, initially I thought of a bailiff going around
debtors collecting for the Court but it may have been only as he was
required by the Court.
I know I noticed another Bailiff on one of the Censuses and on the folowing
Census he also was a labourer.
It looks Mary b1820 is the daughter of a differant Benjamin and Anne Davies!
Lewis Davies b1823 is the son my Benjamin and Anne Davies family, and thanks
for finding his burial for me Marriage 1821 for Benjamin & Anne is most
likely.
A bit confusing but a lot of it now more clear than it was.
Best wishes Desmond
