Hi Diana
Thought it was Llanelli you did index, yes, a very large parish to
complete!! And Adulam too........
I think I have the burials for David and Catherine Jones in Abergwilly
parish burials
1854 25th April
David Jones of Abergwilli aged 66
1877 3rd Nov
Catherine Jones, Village aged 92
Shall I look for Catherine in 1871 for you to see if this one could be the
one in 1851 and 1861.
Two burials for a possible Jonah Jones, but one was too early in
1857 Jonah Jones of Abergwilli aged 65
or the other one was in 1877 but he was of Swansea buried in Meidrim aged 60
There are no burial records from any of the chapels.....one has to go bodily
to the graveyard if they had one to see if there was a headstone, very few
chapels kept records of the burials, then not complete. Unless someone has
compiled monumental inscriptions as we have done for Pembrey parish.....
I do not have early registers for Abergwilly, I will email Sian to see if
she has, as she has indexed the parish registers for Abergwilly........to
1900ish.....from 1813.......
Remember the IGI for Wales only has the non-conformist information.......and
sometimes relatives have included information which they think should be, so
always read it with caution.
Enjoy your Bank Holiday Weekend.....we don't have that holiday here.
Pauline

Dear Pauline
Thank you very much for the 1861 census image.
I transcribed Llanelli (including Adulam) for the 1841 - about 10,000
names
if I remember - it took a long time!!
I will have a look at this David Jones- it is interesting that he is a
basketmaker the same as Thomas Arthur c1829 (staying with Thomas and Ann
Jones in 1851) the brother of my great x 2 grandfather John Arthur
(married
Jonah Jones daughter Ann in 1855 at Llangunnor). Sorry that was a bit
of
a complicated sentance!
Anyway David Jones would be c 1792. Do you have a baptism for him in
Abergwili? Also do you have a baptism for Thomas Jones around 1797 in
Abergwili?
Thomas Jones would be c 1797 and in the 1851 census of Abergwili had
Thomas
Arthur aged 22 a basket maker living with him. Thomas Jones wife Ann
was born in Llanarthney.
Do you have a death or burial for Jonah Jones at Lammas St. Ind. Chapel
around 1871 - 1881. He was living at Polack House Carmarthen. Or were
they having to be buried in the parish church still at that time?
I will go on the IGI and see what I can find!
best wishes
Diana
