Hi Greg
I do not have the christening you have, maybe it was from the bishops
transcripts ......I only have this one on that date
1786 30th July St Peters Carmarthen parish church
William Jones son of William
Or it looks like the entry you have could have come from the IGI where
patronimics were used, especially in the welsh names when the surname was
also the first name!!
Just to confuse even further I did look for a marriage of the people you
mentioned, this could be them.
1785 11th March Llangathen parish church
John David and Sarah Harry
regards let me know what info you have and need
Pauline

Subject: [CMN-L] St. Peter, Carmarthen
A cousin says that our great-great-great-grandfather, William Jones,
was
christened on July 30, 1786, in St. Peter's Parish in Carmarthen, and that
he is listed as the son of John Davis and Sarah Harry. She has no
documentation, and only remembers having seen this somewhere. I am unable
to find any evidence of this christening. Do you have any suggestions on
how I can find the corresponding parish record or other validation of the
event?
