I don't have any specialist knowledge about the area I am afraid, but I do have a tip
for anyone who is looking for old maps and information.
For many years I have used the Internet Archive which can be found at this URL:
http://www.archive.org/ (or look up internet archive on Google).
If you put in a place and search for it, nowadays you will often find out of print books
which American universities have put online. I found some very interesting books on
Cornwall for my brother's family history, complete with public domain illustrations
and maps.
Putting in Carmarthen comes up with historical books on the topography of Carmarthen,
books on agriculture in Carmarthen and a lot more. You can either choose to read books
online, or to download them in a variety of formats. There's an awful lot there.
If you want information on an individual place, it is always worth having a try with that.
There are a LOT of the published registers online now, and many years of the Gentleman
magazine.
Hope you find something to help!

I have some relatives coming from the
USA late summer and whilst I have the
Isaac family tree back to the 1700's covering the
area of
Cyffig, Whitland, Meidrim and Llanddowror , I have as yet
not put dwellings
and tithe map details to it.
So next month I have to start visiting Carmarthenshire to
create and
itinerary for their visit. The family were Non-conformist,
I believe
Methodist and the half that migrated to USA went with the
Mormans to Salt
Lake City in middle 1800's.
I have a starting point of 1928 a newspaper cutting of a
double bereavement
at Llanddowror who were interred at Bethlehem St.
Clears.
It mentions places I cannot find on the modern or Old maps.
Pontryrhyll
and Clogyfrane Bridge. Any ideas
In referring to on of the deceased it mentions Pontyrhill
(formerly of
Llanddowror) It mentions a wreath from Nazarteth C.M chapel
Pontyrhill could
this be the one in Llangeinor Glamorganshire ?

Any ideas, I see the online store has a CD for BETHLEHEM,
PWLL TRAP &
TRINITY, ST CLEARS, MONUMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHS
which I will purchase.
The Chapels mentioned were Nazareth C.M Church
Llanddowror, The
Tabernacle C.M. Church LLanddowror Villagedoes not
seem to have a burial
ground ? Where would methodists from Whitland
Llanddowror likely be buried
