A fair number of Births, Marriages and Deaths is recorded in South
Wales and Herefordshire papers for the last half year of 1817. Most of
them refer to persons residing outside the county therefore only those
that relate to Carmarthenshire are given here. Where a day of the
week or date of month is not stated in the notice, the date of the
newspaper is given, and placed within brackets.

Last week in this town the infant son of Lieut. Stiles, RN.
July 5, Saturday—At Ystradwralt, near Carmarthen, the Lady of Capt.
Philipps, knt., a son.
July 9. Wednesday—At Laugharne, aged 82. Mrs. Elliot, relict of late
Gero. Elliot ,esq.. of Pimlico Lodge, London. and of Dr. Elliot, of
Bath.
July 23, Wednesday—Wife of D. Griffiths, esq., of Alltyferi. a
daughter.
August 23. Saturday—Wife of John Davies, auctioneer, of
Carmarthen. a daughter.

Sept. 9, Tuesday.—At St. Peter’s, Carmarthen, John Llewellyn,
merchant, to Miss Morley, dau. of David Morley, cabinet-maker and
upholster.

Sept 23.—At Llanarthney Mr. Thomas. brother of Mr. H. Thomas, of
Pale, co. Carm., to Miss Davies of Carmarthen.
Oct. 13 at Kilawen in par. of Llanboidy in prime of life , and
deservedly lamented. William Evans, student at Carmarthen College.
Mr. Evans being a young man of promising talents. peaceable
disposition, and strict integrity, his death at the time he was nearly
entering the ministry, is considered a public loss.
Oct. 20. Monday—At Carmarthen, after a short illness, Mr. Daniel
Jones. currier.
Oct. 20, Monday—Aged 58, Mrs. Mary Thomas housekeeper of
Golden Grove. 31 years in the service of Lord Cawdor. much
respected in her station.
Oct. 31, Friday—Mrs. Nnott, wife of Mr Nnott of Carmarthen.

Nov. 20. At Llanfihangel-Yeroth. George Saunders of Perth-y-berllan,
to Mary, only dau. of Thomas Rees, esq., of New Inn.
Nov. 15, Saturday——At her house in Castle-green, Mrs. Sarah
Evans, wid. of late Rev. Caleb Evans, D.D., pastor of Baptist Chapel
in Broadmead.
Nov. 26, Wednesday—Aged 55, Miss Mary Davies, formerly of the
Blue Bell, Carmarthen.
Dec. 4.—Thursday evening at Carmartlsen Hy. Williams, solicitor,
eldest son of Daniel Williams, esq., solicitor, and chamberlain to the
borough; the decease by a rapid decline was cut off in the prime of
youth, aged 28.

many years sergeant of Carmarthen Militia, and late Captain in that
regiment.
Dec. 29, Tuesday.—At Carmarthen, aged 77, John Evans, auctioneer
of this place.
Dec. 30, Wednesday—At St. Peter’s, Carmarthen. W. H. Pollard. esq..
of London, to Lucy. 2nd dan. of late B. Thomas. Attorney-at-law, of
Narberth.
