Gower is recognised as a land of long lived people. At Llanmorlais there
is
an ancient mariner.
Edward Davies of 2 Orchard Terrace Llanmorlais famed as a daring swimmer
and
Pilot. His fame extended to all ports along the channel where regattas
were
held. He won in all over a hundred prizes in regattas principally at
Mumbles,
Tenby and Ilfracome.
