Hi Pam
There are census returns for the following decades ....
1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881 and 1891
1901 will be available to view next year.
To locate a marriage in the indexes we use here namely the St Catherine's
House Indexes - they are in quarters per year, and only give name,
registration district and number - nothing else - if you know the
bride's/groom's name you can check by seeing if the same person is in the
same quarter of the same year with the same number, if so this is probably
the one you require .......
If you live near an LDS (Latter Day Saints Mormon) centre or a family
history centre you should be able to order in the microfilm for the census,
and probably the bishops transcripts.
Thanks for the offer of Australia, but the only one of my family who ever
lived there was myself, and I left there in 1973.
Pauline

Subject: Re: [Cmn-L] Elizabeth WATERS
Hi Pauline
I was really only trying to find out if the wife of William WATERS was
Elizabeth BUNYAN or any other spelling of the name prior to marriage. I
think this would say that Anni and MARY ANN are the BUNYAN's I am seeking.
is their a census for 1871?
Is there at all a marriage register or any other way of researching a
family
fromn Australia. ?
In our micro fiche & CD indexing system we have the Husband Wife, year of
marriage and place of birth.
Birth gives both parents names Mother's maiden name, same as death, along
with age at time of death. Do you have any thing at all like this? or is
the research 1 hard task.
Pauline I am not sure if you have family in Victoria QLD or SA. I do have
all the current BDM CDs. (No SA marriages) I am willing to do look up for
you.
