Hi Pauline / Pat ,
I've just returned from a wonderful week in Wales, I'm sorry that we didn't
manage to get to visit you, but most of our time was spent in west Wales.
However we did get to Carmarthen Register Office and Henry Perkinson, was in fact my
Henry Perkins, the Girls were most helpful and I had the Marriage Certificate within a
matter of minutes !
Henry Perkins(on) and Anne Davies married at Bethlehem Chapel, Pwll Trap on 5th June
1953 :-
Witnessed by David Thomas and Thomas Davies, Minister Joseph Williams, Registrar John
Thomas
Bethlehem Chapel, St Clears, According to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Independents.
I also found a Great Grand Uncle in the Graveyard, I'm sure there were others, but
some of the Headstones were unreadable.
I found some others at Henllan Amgoed, the graveyard is very well kept and it appears
they are now tidying the area around the older Graves.
I was surprised to find that Cwm Miles was a village not a farm and is now sign posted
near Login thanks to the Locals raising the money for the signs, there is also a Cwm miles
chapel which was built in 1858.
The Calfaria Independents Chapel at Login is now a community hall, purchased by the
villagers.
I got to look around my Ancestors Farm "Penbontbren" and was invited for Tea
by the present owners
Tony and Nyrnin EYNON (Help with the spelling) Tony is also of DAVIES descent, (may be of
use to Pat)
I had a wonderful time and would recommend Gwarmacwydd (Llanfallteg) to anyone who
wished to stay in the area, I'm sad its over and am looking forward to my next visit,
when time and circumstances allow it.
Regards,
Kevin Perkins
