Cause began: 1787; embodied 1795
Chapels: 1789; restored 1814; 1836
Location: Cwmifor, easter part of Llandilo fawr parish
Branch of: Soar, Llandybie parish until 1795. From 1795-1811 the minister
of Libanus, Llansadwrn served as pastor here.

Ebenezer
Cause began: preaching occurred here as early as 1788 but the cause was not
really settled until 1814. There was little or no growth until 1825 when
several joined this congregation; embodied 1830.
Chapels: 1829
Location: Crescent Road, town and parish of Llandilo Fawr.
Branch of: The first members probably came from surrounding churches which
had been established previous to 1825, namely Cwmifor, and Soar in Llandybie
parish. About 1829 the minister of Penrhiwgoch Llanarthney parish took
charge of this cause. He was here for about two years. After this, the
minister of Cwmifor came here to assist this young church.

Branch of: the first members probably came from Goshen, Llangadog and
Salem, Llandilo fawr parish.

Salem
Cause began: Howell Harfris preached here earlier than 1739. A society was
formed about the same time.
Chapels: 1791; restored 1848; 1874
Location: New Road, town and parish of LLandilo Fawr.
Branch of: In the early years connected with LLanlluan, Llanarthney.

Tabernacle
Cause began: from about the mid 18th century until Bethel Chapel was built,
the Methodists worshiped with the Independents.
Chapels: Bethel, 1773. This chapel fell into the hands of the
Independents. The Methodists worshipped in homes until the Tabernacle was
built in 1842.
Location: Glanaman, Cwmaman, southern border of Llandilo Fawr.
Branch of: Sion, Betws parish.

Bethel
Cause began: about mid 18th century. The independents worshipped with the
Methodists until about 1773. SEE Tabernacle. Calvinistic Methodist Llandilo
