Hello Kay
I found I hadn't marked this to go in my "for reply" folder - so I'm a
bit slow in replying.
I find the number of e-mails that come every day sometimes swamp me!! Of
course they are not always direct to me - but I find I must read all the
ones from the lists that I subscribe to or I might miss either something
useful to me, or something I have the answer to fir someone else.
Now regarding your Beynons.
I don't have anything (at the moment) to prove it wither way - but it
seems a possibility.
Stoney way doesn't seem to be an area that is likely to have many houses
- there are just a few in 1841 - so I presume the 128 and 129 are
schedule numbers no house numbers. They could very wel ahve been two
"households" occupying the same building.
In 1841 they don't both show in Stoneyway but they are close (I haven't
got my notes to hand at the moment so I can't give you the references.)
I will ayke a note in my "unanswered questions" file and let you know if
anything comes to light.
Bye for now
Pat

For Pat Powell,
Pat, since you have collecting information on the Beynons for some time, I
wondering if you think William Beynon, age 78 and wife Mary, age 84 living at
128 Stoney Way St. are the parents of James Beynon, age 46, living at 129
Stoney Way St in the 1851 Laugharne Census Index.
I haven't found a Bapt. Record yet for James's birth c1805, I have checked
the Laugharne Bishop Transcripts, St. Clears Bishop Transcripts & the
Bethlehem Chapel of St. Clears. The closest I have come so far is James
baptized 31 March 1807, born 24 March 1807, son of Thomas Beynon & Anne,
Laugharne Parish. Since James names his first son, William and 1st dau Mary.
His neighbors seem more likely candidates to be his parents.
I did find a William Beynon baptized 2 May 1774, son of James Beynon &
Bridget, in the Laugharne Parish Records. Could it be the William above?
Can't help to notice that Welsh men seem to marry older women or Is it Welsh
women marry younger men?
Regards,
Kay Schorah
