Hi Thomas
I have checked the Abergwilli baptisms, and there is not one for a Harriet
Evan/s - so perhaps the Penuel one is her.......
I have looked for a marriage of a William Evans and Maria/h find below:
24th March 1835 St Peters parish church
William Evans and Maria Davies St Peters Carmarthen
I cannot find a Maria Evans in Carmarthen 1851 census, and I do not have
Abergwilli.
let me know if this helps
Pauline

Subject: [Cmn-L] William Evans of Abergwili\ Carmarthen
Could SKS who has access to the 1841 or 1851 Census data for
Carmarthen
and\or Abergwili, or has trade directories from about 1825 to 1860
please
do a look-up. I am trying to find my great grandmother's family links. I
have a Carmarthen Registry copy of Harriet Evans marriage to William Malyn.
They married at Abergwili Parish Church in 1857. Both are recorded as
resident in Abergwili. Her father is given as William Evans, Innkeeper.
Her age was given as 20 at the time of the wedding. Carmarthen Registry
could find no birth registration for her and suggested she was born just
before official records came into use. I have found a Harriet Evans
baptism in IGI for May 1837 at Penuel Chapel, Carmarthen, William Evans is
given as father and Maria(h) as mother. Are there any entries for this
combination, or for Harriet and her father at a particular inn? Are there
any older siblings which would point to a marriage date for William Evans?
Thanks
Thomas
