Hi all,
Some more info on regarding this virus 'incident'.
The file attached was monsters.doc.scr and contains a virus. However, it was not being
picked up by Norton AV. It created a file DFFJ.EXE in the Windows System32 directory, and
this file got executed again on start-up.
Be cautious when opening attachments, even though it's from people on the list or
other people you know - the virus will automatically pick e-mail addresses from your
address book. Be extra vigilant if these attachments have 'double' extensions like
filename.doc.scr or filename.jpg.exe.
Apologies for the off-topic content...
Theresa

Hi Pauline,
one more email addy for you.
I have just had some "odd" e-mail tonight, from lists I am not on, mainly
[MDX] and [AYR]
is it just me or has anyone else had this problem? The mails although genology related
also have attachments with them, but they don't seem to be infected, Norton hasn't
picked anything up anyway. Probably rootsweb :)
