The Goodig Hotel was formerly called the Goodig.
It has always been called the Goodig, built before 1700
This was the home of John Wedge, who was born 11th December 1765, [died
the
13th December 1853, aged 88].son of John Wedge Master Mariner of St
Ives,
Cornwall, who had married Elizabeth Thomas of Goodig, on 27th January
1763.
In 1808 John Wedge [the younger] produced a chart of the treacherous
Burry
Estuary, later involved in planning and siting of the Pembrey New Harbour,
which never came about, because of structural problems, he is buried in
Pembrey Church.
