Hello Allen in sunny Aberavon,
Thanks greatly for your response:
1. Try as I may I cannot change 'Michaelston On Arrow' to 'Michaelston Super
Avon' however closely I study the certificate. However, I must admit that
the Arrow could quite easily be 'Avon'. In fact I took it as that in the
first place and searched the river Avon for Michaelston.
2. This is very interesting re the two Chivers girls getting married there
in 1832 and 34. I'll store that one for future research. They may turn out
to be relatives.
3. The Jacob Chivers aged 26 you've identified in the 1841 Census is
undoubtedly the Jacob Chivers of Kidwelly fame who died in Cinderford in 1883
aged 68 yrs. He had a son Thomas by the same Elizabeth shown in the 1841
census but in addition we now have a further son William who perhaps didn't
survive. Thomas Chivers was born to them in 1843 and survived to take on the
business interests of Jacob in and around Kidwelly when his father returned
to Cinderford. (Miriam was born at East Dean, Glos - close by)
4. The Elizabeth Chivers at 3 above was formerly a 'Bright'.
5. The John Bright and Miriam Bright formerly Chivers you found in the 1841
census are my gt gt grandparents without any doubt.
6. I just need to link Miriam with Jacob Chivers - probably brother and
sister - and the mystery is solved. It would also be a bonus to be able to
prove that Jacob Chivers' wife Elizabeth was the sister of John Bright.
7. Probably Thomas Bright (10m) didn't survive. John and Miriam Bright had
Arthur and my gt gt grandmother Sarah after Thomas in 1847 and 1850
respectively. Both were born in Hartlebury, Worcester.
The investigation goes on.
Thanks again.
David from a very wet and windy Surrey

Hello David,
I think that I can help you here a little.
As you can see the County on the Marriage Cert states Glamorgan, have another

But can see two other Chiver girls getting married there in 1832 and 1834.
