Hi Joseph
The probable answer would be that Jospeh or Prudence would have been Church
[St Peter] and the other a none conformist [Tabernacle] and there respective
families would have been the same so they may have kept both to appease the
families

Hi and Happy Easter to all.........
Just back from a quick visit to Carmarthen Archives.Nice to meet Caroline
and John after many emails etc.
Have discovered new wing of family......
My GGGGgrandmother Prudence Goulstone married Joseph Lewis in St Peters
in
1808.
They had many children some were christened in St Peters and some in a
Baptist chapel- The Tabernacle, Dark gate. One was christened in both!!
Was this normal to switch between religions?
The family appear on the 1841, 51 and 61 census as living in Woods Row.
Any body have a Matilda Lewis born 1809, Henry Joseph Lewis born 1811,
Joseph Lewis born 1814, Charles David Lewis born 1817, William Goulstone
Lewis 1820, Theresa Arabella Lewis 1823?
Charles David eventually ran a painting and glazing company in Woods Row.
Prudence also had a Justina Elizabeth in 1806 but before she married. The
father was Edward Davies Esq. Justina is my GGGgrandmother.I would love to
find out who Edward was!
Best wishes
Cathy
