HI Caroline
Yes, a map would be useful if not been in the area since the 60's - all the
road's have changed - if coming on the motorway (not built then) you'll find
everything different, to enter Llanelli you are sent the coastal
route.......
Where Murrey Street and Market Street areas used to be is now an enclosed
shopping precinct......half of Murrey Street has disappeared and Market
Street is hard to be found - most of it is now just a back entrance for the
shops.....
Llanelli Docks has been transformed - it is now a boating area with cycle
tracks promenade etc., it is nice to visit now, although the entrance to
this has moved too......
If you are going to purchase a map of Llanelli town centre purchase the
Streetwise Llanelli Street Atlas, mine is out of date so I cannot give you
the ISBN number......Burry Port Pembrey and Kidwelly are included in this
one.
regards Pauline

Thanks Pauline
Last time I visited Llanelly was sometime in the '60s - I think I shall be
buying a map! Hope the sun keeps shining.

Hi Caroline
You made my brain whirr then......this Chapel is not mentioned in either
Bert Rawlins book or Nonconformist registers of Wales for Llanelly....
Yes, this Chapel is still here it is close to the New Town Hall Ty Elwyn,
and opposite the Old Post Office corner of John Street - I think this one
still conducts services.
Unsure what records if any are held because this is not mentioned in
either
book.......Do you know Llanelli at all?? If you go to Church Street
then
Station Road you cannot miss it - from Llanelli St Elli Parish Church
go
past the library (on your left) on the dual carriageway, carry straight on
past the Magistrates Court on your left, then you will see the Old Town
Hall
on your right, then the New Town Hall St Elli still on your right,
and on
your right on a corner plot to this will be Moriah Chapel......once you
pass
this you will come to traffic lights to take you further down Station
Road -
do not blink because all of this takes place in a matter of 500 yards
(at
a
guess just to make the point that all of these are close together).
Llanelly has changed so much and is still being upgraded....
hope this helps - Pauline from Sunny Llanelli
