Hello Cousin Shyanne,
I noticed the Richards/Evans/Gibby - This is also my
line that I have been researching.
My Grandmother came down the Gibby line, Thomas
married Jane Richards and they had 5 girls, one being
my Grandma.
I have also been corresponding with another cousin of
the Richards line, from James Richards, Jane's younger
brothers family. He lives in Wales.
I am also in contact with other cousins in Wales and
planning a trip there in May to meet some and visit
some and hopefully get documents and pictures too.
I am in Seattle Washington, USA, small world. Please
contact me and we can exchange information or chat.

Hi,
I'm new to this list, so I thought I'd post the
families I am looking for.
I'm looking for a Richard RICHARDS and his father
James Richards. Please
excuse any misspellings-- I have some written
histories, and the spelling
varies from one to another, so I'm not sure which
way is correct.
Richard Richards was born July 3, 1861 in
Laugharn. The following spring
they moved to a farm called Rogers Well, and later
to a farm called Lenox
Well. He attended the common school at Brook for 10
years, and the family
attended Plashet Chapel (Baptist), where he was
baptized in 1878. Also in
1878 he married Martha WILLIAMS, oldest daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. John
Williams. They had a farm in Pembrokeshire, called
Cwmrath, near Merickson.
They had four children, (Edith, Joshua, John, and
Gwendolyn) and they
immigrated to the USA in Sept. 1886, where his wife
died in childbirth in
1889, and he then married Etta May Mitchell June 2,
1898. Richard was a
Baptist preacher. In 1907 they had my Great
Grandfather Lloyd Raymond
Richards (my mother was Holly Richards), as well as
five other children (Eva
Anna, Paul, Vera May, Era Belle, and Ralph).
Richard died in June of 1951,
and his wife Etta died December 10, 1966
James RICHARDS (Richard Richards' father), was born
1833 in Laugharn, died
1905 in Alma, Nebraska, USA; his father was Richard
Richards, and his mother
was Jane, both of whom were born in Laugharn That
Richard died at age 46 in
Laugharn, and was buried there, as was, later, his
wife. James married
Martha EVANS (b. 1831 in Laugharn, d. 1906 in Alma,
Nebraska, USA) in Wales,
and they immigrated about the same time as their son
Richard. James' sister
Jane married Martha Evans' brother John, so there
was a double connection
there. John and Jane's daughter married a GIBBY, and
the Richards family
corresponded with the Gibby family for years;
apparently they were very
close.
If anyone has heard of any of these people, I'd
love to hear from you!
Also, if someone could tell me what searching aids
there might be available
online, I'd really appreciate it. I'm in Oregon,
USA, so I can't get over
to any Churches or anything. It looked like there
was some sort of
genealogical group that one could join, and it
looked like there were some
CD's that one could buy, but I wasn't sure how that
all worked. Also, it
looks like the census' were taken in the 'one'
years, rather than the tenth
year? (1861, 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901, etc) What other
types of records might
be out there?
Thanks so much for your help!!
God bless,
Shyanne Sullivan
