Hi Anne
I cannot find a baptism of this Benjamin - only one mentioned:
1853 8th December Newchuch parish church
Benjamin Davies son Evan and Hannah
It was the 'norm' to confuse us.....my Hannah Jones as stated in last e-mail
gave different place of birth in each census, age differed each decade
too....luckily in ,1871 and 81 she was in Burry Port although deceased by
1891, after marrying Thomas Davies (from Conwil) in Newchurch 1850, moving
by 1851 to
Llangunnor (having 3 children), then by 1861 to Llanelli (3 more children)
, then 1871 onwards Burry Port (3 more children) where she is buried in
Jerusalem Chapel Achddu. The headstone names all her sons who were buried
in graves next to her...all in their teens (only one son survived long
enough to marry)...married daughter Mary Thomas (wife of Rees) also buried
in a grave by her side....and grandson mentioned on the headstone too....so
I was lucky in that respect.....her other married daughter Sarah Harwood (my
g.grandmother) is buried with her too....unsure if her husband Thomas Davies
is there...I know he remarried but his name is also included on the
headstone.....
I've mentioned most of the names - just in case someone is looking for my
family.......you never know!!
Pauline - rambling on as usual.....

Hi Pauline,
Have been following all the correspondence re. Llanewydd with interest.
While you are looking up the other queery could you please check one for
me
- a birth for Bemjamin Davies son of David Davies in 1818 - 1825. He
gives
his age differently in each census, his given age at the time of his
marriage and later at his death only serve to confuse matters even more.
Thanks, Anne - Canada
