Hi Pauline,
I have already trawled all 330 pages for Pwll & couldn't
find them, having said that I was looking for someone else at the time, so I
will try that, but if that fails what then ? any ideas ??

Hi Bryan
Good luck in Haverfordwest.......
I have viewed our indexes for the marriage and this is what I have
1817 26th Aug Lampeter Velfrey
Rees Isaac of Lanboidy Cmn, and Margaret Phillip
it is worth viewing all of the marriage entries around this marriage, as
sometimes the vicar wrote 'with consent of parents' with 'consent of
friends'.....on every entry for a period of time.....in Conwil Elved my
Davies marriage stated with consent of parents and both were full age, all
of the entries at that time all stated with consent of parents regardless of
their age....thought I would mention this.
Nice to have them named during the Rebecca Riots....
regards Pauline

Hi Paul
Have you looked all through the Pwll records for 1911? I will try and see
what I can find, yes, as you state obscure names can be mis-transcribed, or
the name Emanuel could be spelt in various ways as you know...
Hope you are well

Hi Pauline where are you now still in Malta?
Yes, I received your email below, thank you. I am still searching for my
Daniel Mainwaring the father of Ann Mainwaring. I recently finally located
the burial place of James & Ann Thomas formerly Mainwaring in a small
chapel cemetery in Pontrhydfen near Neath. Jerusalem C.M.Chapel.
Ann was baptised in Llanarthney parish church in 1818. I am searching for a
marriage for Daniel Mainwaring or Mandry that may fit or a death before
1841. I have a few in my notes. Although on her marriage in 1846 in
Llanarthney Ann Mainwaring declares her father was a mason the baptism
entry on 11 October 1818 states Anne ( ) Mandrym Great Mountain Collier. No
mothers name entered. I wonder if there is anything in the Overseers Books?
The famous mason Daniel Manwaring from Carmarthen Town died in 1839 without
issue my Ann is not mentioned in his will.
What C.M. Chapels were in the area of Tumble or Llanarthney, please?
All the best

Hi Bryan
Yes, as you state there are no parish registers or Bishops transcripts in
Llangan for 1796. Yes the Rees Isaac 1793 could be the correct one, as we
all know that ages are seldom correct, my own great grandmother at her death
was 10 years younger than she actually was......and in marriages the
information is only as good as given, as they did not have to produce birth
certificates in those days to prove who and what they were......
When are you going back to Carmarthen record office? Keep us posted

Hi Pauline
I have been down to Carmarthen RO. made lots of progress sorting out my Isaac pre 1795 with the help of many other researchers and in particular
one profession who is related.
Question ~ Someone appears to have thrown in a marriage into the lineage circa 1791 to 1795 between William Isaac b.6th May 1772 of Mydrim (or Meidrim)
and a Lettice on the basis that William b.1750 Mydrim was too old? And put a lot of Abt's in around 1790's to fit siblings around Rees isaac b.1796.
We now know the age of the mother who married in 1779 and she would have only been 38 in 1796
Whereas the parish records clearly show that they were out by about 10 years. Rees' eldest brother born around 1780 or 1781 according to census and
he is mentioned in family letters. His second eldest brother is certainly baptised in 1782 Llangan. Which rules out a father born only 10 years earlier.
As you stated earlier there are no matching William Isaac's marrying a Lettice around that period.
Are you able to say who this William Isaac of Mydrim b.1772 married, so that I can eliminate him altogether and check to see
what children he might have had ?. Since the average age of males marrying was somewhere around 26, he could have married as late as 1798.
Regards
Bryan
