Dear List,
Can someone give me an idea of where my Great Great Grandfather James Evans
might be buried? He lived in "Pantyronen" next to the Workhouse just outside
Newcastle Emlyn from at least 1851.until his death on 15th May 1882.
He married a Mary ?? in 1848 and they had two sons David and Jonah (my Great
Grandfather). Mary died some time before 1860 and James married again in
1862 to another Mary, Mary Richards from Troedyraur. James and Mary (No. 2)
had 9 children (7 girls and 2 boys).
James died in 1882 (see above) while Mary lived until at least 1911 still at
"Pantyronen".
Although I have plenty of information about the family and their movements
around Newcastle Emlyn, I do not know where James or his two wives are
buried.
James Evans is the uncle of Rev Herber Evans so it may be that the whole
family were non conformists (probably congregationalists).
Thanks in anticipation.
Regards
Chris Evans
Thank you Pauline for the info.
Regards
George
Rainham, Kent.

Dear List,
I am trying to determine a marriage between John THOMAS and
Hannah (surname unknown) in Llangeler.
There were two marriages in 1882 to a Hannah (a THOMAS and JONES)
in the Newcastle Emlyn registration district and I am trying to
determine which one it may be.
Known information regarding John THOMAS:
Born: c1857.
Address (1881): Daucapel, Llangeler.
Occupation (1881): Teacher/School Master.
Father: William THOMAS (1881 Coalminer/ Deceased in 1882).
Known information regarding Hannah:
Born: c1860
Location: Llangeler
If anyone with access to Llangeler parish records could check
the marriages in 1882 I would be grateful for any information
that would help me to determine the marriage.
Regards
George Pickering

Hi all,
looking for any information regards death/burial for Daniel DANIELS born
~1823 at Abertilli.
Last trace is the 1891 census living at *Bank Row, Pymawr, St
Ishmael, with his wife Mary [CHARLES] Daniels*. Occupation is noted as
being a Tailor.
Wife Mary dies Q2 1905, again at St Ishmael - any burial info for her
would also be most welcome.
Nothing seems to match in FreeBMD, FMP or Ancestry for Daniel - he is
consistent with his date of birth being 1823 but I haven't located any
baptism to confirm.
Cheers
Lynda

I'm trying to find a birth record for a William JONES, born about 1804, in
the parish of Llanddarog. I've looked at the Carmarthenshire FHS database
online, but can't find him. Do any christening records exist for this
parish from 1800-1810, and if so, can anyone tell me where they are held?
Or am I just out of luck?
thanks in advance,
Les Jones
Hi Lynda
I don't know of a Daniel Daniels, but I have a George and Mary Daniels
in my tree. Mary's maiden name was Anthony, and she was born in 1891 at
St Ishmael's. Sorry I haven't found anything on the Daniels family.
Family story said the family was connected to Paul Daniels, the
magician, but I haven't proved it.
