Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
No worry at all, enjoy your trip.

Hello,
Just out of interest, is anyone working on William Williams, Pantycelyn's
family? I have some snippets of information which could be handy.
Meirion.

To: carmarthenshire(a)rootsweb.com
Date: Tuesday, 9 February, 2010, 19:42
Hi,
I wonder if SKS could assist me with a lookup of the 1871 census?
I am looking for the following family, details taken from the 1841 Census,
my ancestor Mary Williams may not be present.
1841 Wern Llanelli
Water Williams, coal miner, 25, Llanelli
Anne Williams, wife, 25
William Davies 2
Jane Davies 3
I note from the 1861 Census that Walter became a widower.
Does anyone know of any baptismal records that might find my ancestor Mary
Williams? I have asked 3 times the Registry Office in Llanelli and also
they asked another office, but we can't find a birth certificate for my
ancestor?
Regards
Helen

Hi Helen
There are a couple of possibles but as this family shows Ann Thomas as
well I think it is the best candidate .
It still brings some questions - e.g Is he the nephew of Margaret Thomas
or of Jane Thomas as sometimes lodgers have their own relationships
shown.
Are they just lodgers or part of Margaret's family in some way.

Hi Pauline,
I've checked the sites here and I can say that he didn't die
in the following states.
N.S.W.
QLD.
VICTORIA.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA
A C T
This narrows it down to Tasmania,South Australia or the Northern Territory.
Deaths in Tassie only go to 1899 and South Australia to the 1920s, that's
online searching.
Sorry.

Can I be cheeky and ask, is it possible to find Thomas Grant on the 1861,
to see perhaps whose son he is, was he Ann's/Jean's son from a previous
marriage? Can't understand who Ann Thomas, stepdaughter is.
Many thanks
Helen

I could kiss you!! I've been trying to find if this is indeed the family
and it must be because on the 1871 I see a stepson, Thomas Grant. He is
mentioned on my Mary Williams marriage certificate as a witness. Wondered
who he was as Mary married a Davies. So I've got the right person, all I
need now is to get the birth of Mary. The Registrar office at Carmarthen were
very helpful looking 1849-1851 but no Mary with father Walter??? Then
someone said which Llanelli?? On the Census returns, it's sometimes spelt
Llanelly but I assumed this was just spelling due to anglocised. But Google
says there are 2 Llanelli/Llanelly.
So the search continues, at least I know it's the right family, just
wondered why Walter was not on birth certificate as it doesn't look any diff. to
an ordinary family, if you know what I mean. I've seen wife written Ann in
all other census returns, so Jean must just be a misprint.
Regards
Helen

Hello,
Just out of interest, is anyone working on William Williams, Pantycelyn's family? I have some snippets of information which could be handy.
Meirion.

my ancestor Mary Williams may not be present.
1841 Wern Llanelli
Water Williams, coal miner, 25, Llanelli
Anne Williams, wife, 25

I note from the 1861 Census that Walter became a widower.

Hi Pauline,
I've checked the sites here and I can say that he didn't die in the following states.
N.S.W.
QLD.
VICTORIA.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA
A C T
This narrows it down to Tasmania,South Australia or the Northern Territory.
Deaths in Tassie only go to 1899 and South Australia to the 1920s, that's online searching.
Sorry.
Barrie.
Have you specific details?

Pete

Hello Elwyn,
Long time no speak :)
There is a place just above Felinfoel called Dan Y Banc, is now mostly a
council estate but there are some older house along the old railway track
that ran up to the Colliery. I think it is even possible that I noted a
house there with the name Ty Dan y Banc, but not certain of that. I will go
check in the morning.
Best Regards

I am researching the ISAAC Family of Llanwrda/Llansadwrn
James ISAAC married Margaret Thomas 6/9/1835
I have found information that James Isaac 72 years died 1876, Margaret Isaac 85 years died 1902. which bears out with Free BMD information.
There is information that James and Margaret died at Llansadwrn and are buried in Llanwrda Churchyard and there is a headstone. Can anyone help or advise where I go to find out the dates of death & burial, and possibly a photograph of the Headstone.
