Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Some members have mentioned that the time out inactivity seems to be a
little short, that is to say I have set the inactivity time to 10 minutes,
if you do not use the website for this period of time, you would have to
login again.
This was to prevent members from having to login several times before they
could access the site if it is busy.
What I have done is extended this time to 30 minutes, hopefully it will be
OK, and members who try to login during the busy periods do not have to try
and keep login in.

Richard
Hi Hywel
Will get back to you in more detail tomorrow.....
Achddu is a small area in Burry Port, Pembrey parish.......Pantachddu was a
farm in Achddu at the rear of Jerusalem Chapel.....it still stands today but
it is derelict, but it is a listed building....
This Williams family has quite a bit of interest in the area........If I
remember correctly they married into the Bowser family.

Arlene,
What will really help you is an Ordnance Survey map of the area.
The most famous map company in Britain is Stanford's up in London. My maps
are upstaits so I'll sort out the correct ref. for you tomorrow. Right now
it's shut-eye time over here, having just turned 10.30. Send us some of that
sun!
G'night.

Arlene,
Charles Stamp married Anne Lewis in the Llandeilofawr area in the
March quarter of 1894. Volume 11a p.1294 if you want to get a certificate.
My cousin is the church officer down there so if they got married at the
parish church she can look stuff up in the register,
Regards
Sandie

Thanks for the IGI information.
You;re quite right - I have been slogging away for quite some time, trying to pinpoint "my" Bassetts, but I'm not giving up hope that some day I'll make a break through !
Thanks for your interest, and thanks too to Sue for suggesting the Glamorganshire Bassetts.

HI
I can only tell you that Benjamin Jones was not baptised in Llanybydder
parish church from 1813 onwards.....I do not have earlier ones, I also do
not have registers for Llansawel either so cannot check there for you.
If you do find him, I have earlier marriages...
sorry Pauline

Is there any way of checking who were the tenants before David Simpson took
over Glantowy at Llanegwad in the 19thC?

Hello to all,
Having posted the following message late August, and as at that time it
seems that quite a few fellow members were away on holiday as there were
very few messages coming through, I would like to submit my query again.
Hopefully somebody who didn't see the original mail might be able to help
me.
Many thanks.
Jennifer from France

Subject: [CMN-L] New member looking for the Jones and Browns of Llanbyddaror
Llansawel
Hello to all fellow members,
My name is Jennifer, I live in France but on my father's side, I have
ancestors in Wales in Monmouthshire and Camarthenshire.
I'm particularly looking for the following :
Benjamin JONES said to be born in either Llanbyddar or Llansawel,
Camarthenshire around 1813 (Information gathered from Census returns 1841 to
1881).
He married a Catherine, which I think could be Catherine BROWN, on
02.06.1834 in Lanbedr Breconshire. She was said to be born in Llansawel
Camarthenshire around 1814.
In the above mentionned Census returns, I have found some of their children
:
John born c 1837 in either Llanelly or Brynmawr Breconshire
James born c 1840 in Breconshire
Sarah born c 1845 in Aberystruth Monmouthshire
Benjamin born c 1849 in Aberystruth Monmouthshire , but said in 1881 census
to be born in Llanelly Breconshire
Mary born c 1854 in Aberystruth Monmouthshire
Benjamin born 1861 in Aberystruth or Nantyglo Monmouthshire
Mary Jones married Samuel WILDING on 12.07.1876 in Llanhilleth
Monmouthshire. They are my great grandparents.
Should anyone be able to help me find the parents of Benjamin Jones and
Catherine Brown I would be very very grateful, having found nothing
whatsoever through IGI which could match.
Best regards to all
Jennifer from France
