Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Thank you Pat, this is the correct family but what I wanted if
possible, was further info re deaths or marriages for the listed people.
I'm probably asking too much - I apologise if that's the case.
Cheers
Marcelle

you need more information than given, as these are very popular names, where
in Carmarthenshire? When did they marry, when did they die?

Hi Pauline and Elizabeth.
Thanks for the input.
I don't think the Saer's or James in my family went to St. Martins Laugharne.
Only John James and Sarah Saer to get married.
but like you say Pauline because they had to.
Shall remember the advice on the spelling of "SARE" Elizabeth.
Many Thanks again.

Hi All:
I find problem listed below confusing, any advice?
JOHN JOHN b, 1793/1794. Langan.
These are the only two birth dates he used from the 1841 thru 1881 Census.
So on looking him up in the IGI batch numbers I found these two entries.
JOHN JOHN: Christening: 25, Sept. 1794.
Father. JOHN EVAN. Mother. CATHERINE.
MARGARET JOHN. Christening: 25 Sept. 1794.
Father. JOHN EVAN. Mother. CATHERINE.
JOHN JOHN: Christening: 25. Sept. 1795.
Father, JOHN EVAN. Mother. MARGARET.
MARGARET JOHN. Christening: Sept. 1795.
Father, JOHN EVAN. Mother. Margaret.
Can this information be verified?
Being two entrees with the same names for Father and twins born on the same
dates other than the year. Would make me think it was a double entry, but the
Mothers names are different.
Margaret and Evan are family names. Catherine is not,
and I am presuming that the surname for the Father is JOHN not EVAN is that
correct.
advice and opinion appreciated

Was the Granddaughter of John and Hannah John who were from Llanboidy,
she was with them in Llanboidy in the 1961 census.

Shwmai Gwenda,
In reply to the above request, Llanelli Library have all the relevant Newspapers that covered the area on film.
They include the following and the period they covered :-
South Wales Press - 1867-1934
Mercury - 1891-1960
Llanelly Guardian - 1869-1953
Llanelly Star - 1909-
There was and still is the South Wales Evening Post with some local coverage but they do not have this in the Llanelli Library.
Hope this is of help.
