HI PAULINE its just soldiers in this listing, they have started alphabeticaly so it should take a year or so to go through the lot.
Re your grandfather,if i remember you got his service number and a little bit more ,when you have time ,send what you have, i can sweep the sites of seamen got lots more time than you .maybe theres mention of his exploits somewhere tucked away.rainclouds hovering overhead .My grandparents were Irish my parents Welsh Iam English and my children are Scots .I will be flying a few flags outside for the RUGBY,bye
Good morning PAULINE ,winds dropped suns ablaze, spring flowers adorn the kentish countryside.Iam hopping over to the DYFED site to encroach on thier goodness.Need to find ANN REES in LLANGOEDMORE,1816.
Thankyou for all your help and continued kindness also thanks to the list and thier hardwork in helping to produce a great site regards JOHN
Hope no one minds my two cents worth on this subject, and I know we
addressed it eons ago as well. I have always preferred including the
original message in subsequent responses, as this List is usually
anywhere from fairly to quite busy at times and I may have missed the
original inquiry or comment. At that point I'm either trying to go back
in the e-mails to find the original or give up trying. Once I determine
that I am/am not interested in a specific e-mail subject, I either
delete it immediately or keep the original question with the subsequent
responses in tow and delete the original e-mail. A current example are
the e-mails about the Davies/Lewis/Howells. Because I have some of each
in my family line and keep individual e-mail folders for each surname, I
don't want to keep a half dozen or more e-mails to refer to later on, if
I can keep one or two with all the comments in one.
Not my intention to start a row about this with everyone, but I've been
on this list a few years now and I preferred the original way Pauline
had us communicating. It was for a specific purpose to the benefit of
the entire group.

1861 census NEATH millions green
JOHN WEBBER hd 45 NEATH
RACHEL wife 38 carmarthen
THOMAS son 15 carmarthen
JOHN son 13 carmarthen
ELIZABETH dau 10 neath
SARAH dau 7 neath
ANN dau 3 neath
MATHEW son 1month neath
from this i took it as the same family and got SARAH WEBBER birth cadoxton 1853 father john webber mother RACHEL RICHARDS ok so far
OH THE WELSH,a very nice lady Susan Martin helped me about 6 years ago compiling a study of the WEBBER links .Oh we had a few days of drama but she finaly sorted out some semblance of order .However further to your revealing the census read out of Richards ,i now have second thoughts and big decisions to make .
Got two distinct lines of WEBBER interlocking probably cousins ,but not to get bogged down .
Heres my findings, JOHN WEBBER a baller father JOHN brickman
RACHEL RICHARDS father THOMAS a filler
married in MERTHYR TYDFIL
Couldnt find 1841 census but found 51. as follows
LYROS NEATH
JOHN WEBBER hd 39 railway labourer LLANSAMLET
RACHEL WEBBER wife 31 llanegwad
ANN duaghter 10 st peters
THOMAS son 7 st peters carm
JOHN son 4 st peters
ELIZABETH daughter CADOXTEN
i deducted from this that THOMAS and ANN were RACHELS parents so asked you to find me a connection, and you did ,with me so far
Hi John
it looks as if the census in Glam I gave to you could be the one, as he was
a filler......John and Rachel Webber after their marriage went to Carmarthen
c1840, as we know 2 of their children were born there, but they returned to
Glam by 1851 census, giving place of birth for both children........Webber
is a nicer name to look for.....!!
Perhaps Ann died and he married Elizabeth?

Hello again Pauline.
After ferreting around I have found that Samuel Jones son of Samuel from Manordeifi was in Rhymney in 1861 .I am assuming that my Thomas may have been staying with him there,Samuel married and his first child was born in Rhymney so that might have that sorted out.I have been trying to find the birth of Samuels children but they are not registered in manordeif nor Lllansawel where Samuel himself was born
Their births would have been Isaac 1818,Elizabeth 1824,Samuel1828 within a year or two.
Enoch, the father of Thomas born 1836 +or_ the son of Samuel is not mentioned in census and I am assuming he is dead before the 1841 census was collected!!!!! so his age is unknown.
I have also been searching for the marriage of Samuel elder,to Elizabeth who was born in Manordeifi have you any idea where I can search for that marriage please.I have looked through the ohline data for Pem and Carmarthenshire also the data on Ancestry and the free igi files too.
Thomas was in his adult life a laypreacher in the Baptist religion as well as a mason and I am wondering if there was a Baptist meeting place where his christening may have taken place. also the weddings of the fasmily.
Any input greatfully received
veronica downunder
Heavens above PAULINE my living rooms awash with sheets of family history .I compiled folders containing photos and street map locations churches places the families lived in clothes and food etc ,write ups on each family surname ,thier occupations and write ups on thier places of work.Had them all nice and tidy ready to combine with my life and times story .
My two cavalier king charles decided that papers a great plaything,HEEEELP.back later
Hi Deb
If you send to Carmarthen record (archives) for the abode and occupation it
will narrow it down to find siblings.......
Quite a few John Thomas in 1841 Llandybie of various ages, so we do need the
occupation.....
let me know if you have luck and we can go from there...

Hi members
Im having a rest from searching my Welsh family and looking at my husbands
family name, and I wondered if anyone can help
Im searching for Blakeman John Clay who was born in England about 1873, I
was wondering if he moved overseas. I cant find him in 1901 although he is
there in the 1891 census and there isnt any record of a death between this
time. I have found a Mr B J Clay on a passenger transcript detail sailing
from Southport on 11 August 1900 to New York USA. Does anyone have access to
the USA Ancestry who could look to see if this is infact my Blakeman John.
I would really appreciate this help
regards
Marie

Hi John
Hope I did not send you up the wrong path......but we do know that there is
a Thomas and Elizabeth still in Llanegwad 1841, and stated they were not
yours....
Hope you have time to relax ......
It took years for me to find someone researching the same family as myself,
really exciting when it happened, especially when he was a new member of
CFHS and asked ' Do you know of'.......and I could shout YES, she was a
sister of my great grandmother!!!

As for certificates i have boxes of them ,but still cant find a living person linked to any of my lines other than my uncles and aunties lines from mother and fathers siblings .
I will speak soon
John
In 1841 John and Rachel Webber were living in Carmarthen St Peters.
1841 Carmarthen St Peters dist 20
Old Priory
John Webber 30 ag lab born in county no
Rachel Webber 20 born in county yes
Ann Webber 1 born in county no
strange why they are saying no for Ann as in 1851 stated she was born
Carmarthen St Peters, we know they spent a few years there as both children
from 1851 born there......
Are you sure that you have the correct marriage? I have another one of a
Thomas Richard from Llanegwad....and wife is Elizabeth...
1817 16th December Llanegwad parish church
Thomas Richard and Elizabeth Davies....
or is this the one belonging to the 'other' person.........
