Hi Bob
I can confirm that relatives often got their place of birth wrong. My
g.grandfather always said he was born in Talley, but I have proof that he was born
in Llanfynydd. Another g grandfather always said he was born in Breconshire
but was in fact born in Radnorshire. So you have to research further to prove
the facts.
Good luck with your family research.

Hello again Bob
You didn't remind us of the names of the family - but here is the 1841
census entry

Margaret " 31 Y
Isaac " 5 Y
Evan " 2 Y
Is this the right family? (fingers crossed!!)

Is there some kind soul out there who would do a lookup for me in the 1851 census? I am looking for the Thomas family - John W (b abt 1813), Martha (b abt 1815) and 3 girls - Ann (b abt 1842), Mary (b abt 1846), and Sarah (b abt 1848). I have information indicating that John and Ann were born in Llanfynydd, Carmarthen, Wales.
Thank you in advance.

Just obtained the birth certificate for my wife's ggg grandfather from
Carmarthen RO and it shows he was born 3 August 1841 at Gilwenycha. No
Sub-District listed. Registration District Cilycwm. County of Carmarthen.
Have checked maps and tried 'googling" but unable to locate Gilwenycha.
According to Census records for 1851, 1871 and 1881 he was listed as born in
Llangadog.
Can SKS enlighten me as to the relationship between Llangadog and Gilwenycha
or have I wound up with the wrong certificate?

Hi Pauline (or any lister).
I am looking to find information on a G.S.Richmond of Llanelli in 1930.
A bit off list topic. The reason I am looking is because I have an old engine here (weighs around 2 ton) that was made by the Blackstone Company in October 1930 and sold to a G.S.Richmond of Llanelli.
I would assume that Richmond was a company as well as an individual.
The engine could have driven anything I suppose from cereal grinding to sawmill or cement (mortar) making.
Hope someone can help on this as it's nice to have some historical facts on these things.
Not holding my breath

Thanks for the help. My 4GGrandmother was Elizabeth Evans. I suspect their
marriage was at Pembrey Parish in 1811, although I have only seen that in an
index, and have yet to verify it in the parish records.

Subject: [Cmn-L] Found Forge Row!!
Hello Greg
I have now found Forge Row in Llanelly
This is the entry from the 1851 census:-
Parish of St Elli enum dist 1I Folio 361 Page 14 schedule 43
1 Forge Row
Raby Arms
Elizabeth Jones Hd W 60 Publican CMN Llanelly
Ann " Da U 22 svt at home "
Leonard " so U 18 Copperman "
James Bull LG U 22 Ag Lab, Drainer SSX Backley
Evan Harry LG U 50 Rail Lab CMN Kidwelly
William Nash LG U 22 Baker PEM Haverfordwest
THis area is part of the Borough Hamlet.
The enum dists in 1841 will be different but it should still be in
Borough Hamlet.
Is your William Jones the one who married Elizabeth Harries in Llanelly,
Cmn on Dec 14th 1830?
Cheers

Hello Greg
I'm confused - the onlt Forge Row I can find is in Llanelly, Breconshire
- but Sandy Gate is in Llanelly Carmarthenshire.
Are you sure you have the same William Jones in both cases?
Were these addresses from certificates? Can you give us the dates.
Was the name of the inn given?
Cheers
