Hi Gail
Our great grandfathers paths must have passed because my Thomas Davies
originally of Conwil Elved who moved to Burry Port/Pembrey in the 1860's
worked as a furnaceman in the copperworks until his death in 1897.....
The Copperworks has long gone, as has all industry in Burry Port, this is
now a tourist town....

Hi,
I hope your wish comes true but just one thing. Don't forget that you would
have also to pay import duty. I got stung with this when I bought my copy
of the 1881 from America and it was nearly as much as the 1881.
Hope you get it.

Sometime ago I sent an inquiry about the above named. Pauline you replied that Cayo Village Church where he was buried was across the road from a business that a cousin of your husband owned. And there was no more to that email than that. Where can I go to get more information about him, he is my grgrgrgrandfather.

Hi Peter
Which parishes are you after, I can give you some indication then of which
ones I have indexed......I have completed more burials than baptisms at
present, but I am now working on baptisms.......
I am also compiling Parish Anthologies, if you want to know which ones are
already completed go to

Hi Pauline,
Can you please tell me for which Carmarthenshire parishes indexes of the
contents of their register have been published. If my inquiry should more
appropriately be directed to Carmarthenshire FHS could you please let me
have their e-mail address.
All the best,

Hi Pauline,
If its not imposing too much on you and if you are going to see Benita later
this week, would you be so kind as to put an order in for me for the
forthcoming Park Howard CD. If its as good as the Llanelli one, it will be
worth every penny.
Ellyn is supply teaching this week and lecturing the Llandovery WI on
Wednesday so I'm marooned in these four walls without the car for a while or
else I'd drive to Llanelli myself. There's something wrong in this world of
ours, don't you think when a Canadian ends up lecturing the Llandovery WI on
their local history and genealogy. :-)
Best Regards,
Mal.............. Ammanford, Carmarthenshire.

Hi All
There is the story of Howard Elkington who, together with Josiah Mason, owned
the Copper Works at Burry Port. Have a look at

I have a Rees family from Llangadockwhich includes Elizabeth Rees, born abt.
1833 who married my great grandfather John Davies from Pencarreg. She had a
younger sister, Hannah who was born abt. 1850. I'm trying to find out if this
Hannah is the same as Hannah Walters, married to David Walter, who died abt.
1924. Did Hannah marry a mr Evans and then go on and marry David Walters. In
a report on her funeral the family mourners include a Miss Evans (daughter)
as well as a Mrs W Walters and a Mr and Mrs W Walters. This seems to indicate
two separate husbands. Does anyone have a connection with a Rees family born
in Llangadock. Elizabeth and Hannah's parents were Esther and John. Thank
you.

Hi Pauline, I received your e-mails. Thank you so much. Now I will have
to study what you sent to me. It seems to fit with what we have on Owen
but I was thinking that they were coal miners. I can't believe how many
David's, etc there are. If this is him then the Morgan I have can't be a
brother to Owen. Maybe related though. Morgan married an Anna Hopkins in
Wales before 1868. I am hoping some one will see the names and recognize
the family. I think we have the marriage for John and Mary Edward
Charles. If it is the right one his father was Charles. and her father
was John Edward. I am hoping that everyone will keep these names and
information in mind and contact me if they know any thing. Again thank
you for your kindness. Donna Hughes PS My maiden name is Hughes also (no
relation to my husband.) Both of our Hughes line came from Wales as did
my Price Line.
HI Eileen
I do not understand why we can see your messages, but you can't.....has

Hi Pauline, I intend to join again for next year and hope to get back on the chat lines soon. We are coming down to Brecon the first week in December. Where can I buy the above book if we manage to make the trip down to Llanelli? Eileen
Can anyone tell me if the Llanelli County Office has an e-mail address please?
I would like to get two birth certificates.
TIA
