Hi to all listers,
I am hoping that sks might be able to help me with my quest.
Back in 1958, my Grandfather ( Thomas Patrick Lynch ) was stationed at the R. A. practice camp at Sennybridge. In 1958, he suddenly died outside a postoffice in Sennybridge. According to his death certificate, there was a ranking officer with him when he died.
Would it be possible if sks could find some sort of information relating to this incident. I am assuming that the death may have been reported in in the local paper.
The other piece of information that I am after, is: My Grandfather was decorated, ( with ribbons ). I do not know if this is the same as todays medals, could sks explain how and why he was awarded these.
Many thanks in anticipation.
All the best
Gary Steggles. Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
If they are not on the IGI for the given dates - they will not be on the
bishop transcripts either .....these are normally awful 'bits' of paper to
go through....unless they are on film....
The B.T's I have viewed in the NLW are loose sheets ......

Hi Theresa
The actual parish register will be in the Record Office (Archives) in
Richmond Terrace Carmarthen - have you been here before?? You can see the
actual entry - not just the one written out by the registrar....
I am unsure if Llanwinio is on film or register, if on film you could have a
copy of the actual entry - I think the charge if you pick up yourself in
80pence....a lot cheaper than purchasing the certificate.....if on the
register - take a camera with you, they will let you photograph it - as
photocopies are not allowed from the parish registers.....
Census returns are available from 1841 to 1901 these are housed in the
record office too.....I only have an index for 1851 - but you could view the
film in the CRO yourself, if you are going to view the marriage in
Llanwinio......
I know that no baptisms or burials took place in this parish church....

Bassett on 13th Oct 1826 they had 12 children and i am descended from their
eldest William b-1826 .All the family lived in Felinfoel and in 1851 -1891
all the Price families in Felinfoel were my relations .Later all baptisms
marriages burials for the Prices were in Adulam Felinfoel . Now the
Roberts family am back to David Roberts who married Sarah Hitchins in St
Clears on Oct 24th 1813 you found him in the 1841 census in High Street St
Clears it says he was 45 i couldnt find them in the 1851 .Looked through
the parish records of St Clears coulndt find David but found this - no name ?
-son of Thomas Robert a Carpenter and Mary on 6th April 1791 as David was a
Shipwright carpenter though it a possibility. Any help on these families
would be great Thanks for your time Karen
Hi Pauline,
I am sending for the certificate today, the surname was Davies, the
registrar didn't tell me the first name. Interestingly the 2 witness's on
Joseph Lloyds marriage certificate were both Davies. Must be some relation.

Hi Pauline
Thanks for your speedy reply. I do have John and Maria in the 1851 census.
One thing I forgot to mention was that John was a shipwright. The John born in
1807 may be him, how could I find out more please?
Thanks again

deliveries in the Autumn! He likes to finish late morning, have a pint and

Hi Jos
The only chapel in Laugharne which has records is the Independent chapel
Providence......
births and baptisms 1825-37 RG4/4015 (GS 828112) IGI
see Bethlehem and Henllan
As we know lots of the Laugharne non-conformists were baptised in Bethlehem
Pwll Trap St Clears....
Bethlehem records are:
births and baptisms 1770-1837; burials 1831-37 RG4/4446, RG4/4023, RG4/4087
and RG4/1689 (GS 815972) IGI
both these churches/chapels records are available on the IGI according to
the records......there are a few reels to look through for this
chapel......you can order these presumably from your LDS??

Dear Joseph,
There are no children to a William and Mary Beynon in Laugharne parish
registers 1790-1810 which suggests that they were non-conformist and may
have used one of the chapels in the area.
We could search the surrounding parishes and, if any, chapel records for you
but would have to be on a charged basis of £15 for one hour, alternatively,
your cousin could come in and search for you.

I'm hoping your agency is the one from whom we may purchase the birth
certifiicate of my gt. x3 grandfather.
His name is James William Beynon, listed on the censi as having been born
in Laugharne and was born or baptized on 26 August 1804.
His parents were William and Mary (Rees) Beynon.
If our James William Beynon is in your records, please let me know and we

Hi All,
Help!
I have found the birth for a Joseph Lloyd(1854), with a father Daniel Lloyd (mason) in Llangendeirne with the Carmarthen registry office, his mothers maiden name was Davies.
The lady who searched for me couldn't find any record for Margaret James born 1855/6 in Llanwinio to parents Lewis James and Lucy Phillips. I had hoped that would have been the easier one, hoping to even find a marriage cert. for them as well. She also searched for a Mary James born 1851 (Pauline found her on the 1851 Llanwinio census) but she couldn't find her either. I tought as she was on the 1851census aged 6 months she would have been registered in Carmarthen under Llanwinio.
Any suggestions?
Thanks Theresa
