Regarding WWI records
If you are applying for these you may be disappointed. Many records were
destroyed during the blitz in WW2

Hi Gary
Thank you Gary......that is what these lists are for, for each and every one
to assist if we can.....
That is why I ask people to come to the list, because if they come straight
to myself, I am known to forget to answer them, and I cannot even answer
some questions..!!
Glad to have been able to assist - keep us posted if and when you find the
information.

Hi Ray
Thanks - these are very good copies, normally 1841 is really difficult to
read...but with the new films the PRO seems to use infra-red when the copy
is bad......so I've enjoyed looking through mine - and yes, printing them
out....
Conwil should be a month or so...as you know I have interests here too,
although difficult to find with them moving in and out of the parish..
Davies and Davies are the surnames in Conwil I am researching.....aargh..

Hello Ian
I hope that the same person as yourself researching this family will come
forward from this list....if not, perhaps someone remembers who it was who
was researching this family....glad you subscribed, it does help when
researching families on the internet....
I found the following in Major Francis Jones Carmarthenshire Historical
Homes and their families for you....
Parcau Parke, Henllan Amgoed
Three quarters of a mile south west of the parish church. Parcau was owned
by the Poyer family, and when the Methodist cleric, the Revd. Howel Davies
married Catherine Poyer in 1744 he came to live at his wife's home. Their
only daughter Margaret inherited Parcau, and in 1776 married the Revd Daniel
Rowland of Llangeitho, Cards. Nathaniel came to live at Parcau where he
died in 1831. His son Nathaniel inherited Parcau and was a captain in the
Carms Yeomanry. He died without issue in 1849, and by will left 'Parke
alias Place y Parke' to his sister Louisa. Louisa was the third wife of a
yeoman, Thomas Thomas, who had been tenant of Alltyferin, afterwards of
Penybanc Ucha near Abergwilli. After Louisa inherited Parcau he settled
there. He died in 1851 at the advanced age of 93, his son George Thomas
(born 1820) was the last of his family to live at Parcau. A successful
medical practitioner, he became Coroner for West Carms., was an entusiastic
sportsman and became Joint-Master of the Pembs and Carms Otter Hounds.
'Rowley' as he was popularly known died in 1949 without issue. The
Antiquary W.G.STEDMAN THOMAS of Carmarthen was a descendant of this family.
