Subject: {not a subscriber} Hezekiah Carman & Elizabeth Arms Carman Nevitt
Quiggins
I am interested in hearing from anyone with a connection to Elizabeth Arms Carman Nevitt
Quiggins.
From what I understand, Elizabeth was born about 1826-7 in Virginia or
Kentucky and lived most of her life in Breckenridge County, Kentucky. Her first child was
a son named Simeon "Buck" Arms. A number of researchers believe this son was
born out of wedlock.
Elizabeth first married Hezekiah Carman and had a daughter named Minerva Catherine Carman
(born abt. 1848...believe she went by Catherine). Hezekiah died in 1850.
Elizabeth's second husband was John J. Nevitt (born about 1833 in KY, died during
Civil War in GA in 1864, fought for the Union). They married on December 26, 1854. I
have leard of five children from this marriage, including Mary Ellen (b. 1856?), Susan
Frances (1856-1858?), William Thomas (b. 1858), Ezra W. (b. 1860), and John M.
(1862-1922).
Elizabeth married James M. Quiggins on January 19, 1871. I do not believe there were any
children from this marriage.
If you have a connection to this family line, please contact me (at snevitt(a)sc.rr.com). I
would love to hear from you.
