Searching for information on Albert J. Carman, born: Jan. 1, 1845 Jefferson
CO. TN. Died: Nov. 7, 1926, possibly KY.
He married Susan McDowell (1851-?) on August 6, 1866. They had 10 children:
Harriet Rachel (1868-?), Walter Alonzo (1869-?), Mary Ida (1871-?), Laura
Belle (1873-?), Melissa (1875-?), Bertha Cordiely (1876-KY--1964-IN), James
Riley (1879-?), Robert D. (1882-?), Joseph Blaine (1884-?), and Carrie May
(1887-?). Bertha Cordiely was my great grandmother. I haven't any idea of
whom any married, their children, nor their deaths, with the lone exception
of Bertha.
In a short bio written by my grandmother in 1979, she states that her
grandfather Carman was a blacksmith as were all of his sons. That he was
also a drummer boy during the Civil War.
A.J. may have been married twice after his marriage to Susan McDowell. 2nd
marriage to Susan C. Coleman in 1888 and a third marriage to Tamer Louise
Coleman in 1898. Both being the daughters of George R. and Katie Ann
(Ashby?) Coleman. Were there any children associated with these marriages?
I have so many questions and not enough answers. Where is A.J. buried? Who
were his parents and siblings? Who was Susan McDowell? Who were her parents
and siblings? Where was she born and where and when did she die? Whom did
their children marry and did they have children, if so, what were their
names, births, and deaths? Did A.J. and Susan Coleman have children? Did
A.J. and Tamer have children? Are there any descendants out there???
I need some serious help and any given would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
in advance.
