So, I am to assume that the answer to my question, is that you
don't have a relationship for this John Carman to Nathaniel and
Jehiel nor a source to back up your statement below. In other
words it was an honest mistake??
"This John is related to the brothers Nathaniel (lost at sea ca. 1807) and
Jehilah his brother b. 1767, d 1853"

Thanks for your interest.
This is a good illustration of why it is necessary to regard all
information on the net as a clue. pointer to where information can be
found. It is also necessary to evalaute the source of the information.
For instance, the book I cited is an abstract of Pension information.
It may have omitted information which you might find important. It may
have been written at a time when different evaluations were made.
If this is your line, you should look for the complete pension information
which also might contain additional clues not included in the abstract
and not include in my summary, which had a different purpose.
I did not see the pension record, only the abstract in the book I
mentioned. If someone is following this line, it would probably be
neceesary to look at the complete pension records to learn more,
If anyone has more information on this John Carman, I would appreciate
your posting something to the list.
Regards
Patricia

Patricia,
The pension record did not provide a relationship to
Nathaniel and Jehiel. So the question still remains. How
is John in your post related to the two other Carmans you
mentioned and what is the source for the relationship.

John's Revolutionary Pension is the source of this material.I suppose,
since the book I mentioned in my post was Revolutionary Sources of
Genealogical Information.
