Patricia:
This is my line. Joshua and Mary (Crowl) Carman were my Great-grandparents.
This census was actually from La Harpe Township, Hancock Co., IL.
(Patricia, you posted similar information about them in January of this
year.)
There are some other interesting differences between this information and
other that I have seen:
1. Other 1860 census indexes list Joshua as 35 (not 38) and Mary as 29
(not 28).
2. The is the first reference I have ever seen to 3 month old John J.
Carman. If he is from this
family, he must have died as a child.
This family was from the Columbiana Co./Carroll Co., area of Ohio and moved
to IL in the early 1850's. In the mid 1860's they moved on to central IA,
then finally to Riley Co., KS in the late 1860's.
I have a lot of information on this line. If anybody on the list feels that
they connect, let me know, and I will share.

Subject: [CARMAN-L] Joshua Carman, La Harpe County IL 1860 Census -wife
Mari, Children, Lydia, Emma, Charles E., John J.
I found this Joshua in 1860 census. He was 38, his wife 28 and the
children 6, 4, 2, and 3 months. A farmer he had $250 in personal property
and was born in Ohio.
Does this fit in to anyone's line?
