That would be me, for one. My CARMAN line came into Harrison/Jefferson
County, Ohio from Harford County, MD in about 1815. My 4th great
grandfather was John CARMAN, b.1784 Harford County, MD; d.1861 Jefferson
County, Ohio. He married Mary MARSHALL, b.1786 Harford Cty, MD; d.1866
Jefferson County, Ohio; in Harford Cty, MD in Feb 1809. They came to Ohio,
after his service in the War of 1812, about 1815. They had 10 children --
Andrew, b.1809; Samuel, b.1801; Marshall, b.1812; Patience; John, b.1814;
Mary; Elizabeth; Thomas, b.1817; Jane, b.1821; Cyrus, b.1830 (I am of Cyrus'
line)
John Carman's younger brother Amos CARMAN, b.1796 in Harford Cty, MD; d.1843
in Jefferson County, OH, married Mary Marhsall's younger sister Jane
MARSHALL, b.1800 Harford Cty, MD, died after 1870 in Jefferson County, Ohio.
Amos and Jane, after their children were born, came to Ohio also and Jane
and the children lived on the farm next to John and Mary (after Amos' death.
Amos and Jane's children (that I am now aware of) were Andrew, b.abt 1820;
Marshall, b.abt 1826; Mary, b.abt 1828 and Elizabeth Jane, b.1830.
I also have some info on some of John and Mary's other children, and some
(not as much) info on Amos and Jane's children.
John and Amos Carman were sons of Andrew CARMAN and Mary DAVIS of Harford
County, MD
Does any of this help with anything you might be interested in?
