I have just begun researching the Carman family for a friend of mine, Doris Virginia
Carman.
She is related through William de Terry Carman. William married Sarah (Sadie) Hancock
most likely in Baltimore, Maryland but not yet proven as location. The couple had 10
children, 8 living to adulthod.
Doris's father was Frank Walter Carman, one of their sons.
Frank was born 19 Oct 1882 in Ohio and died 23 Jan 1949 in Baltimore. He was married
twice. First time ended in divorce and second time he married Rosella Bach, 30 Oct. 1917
in Washington DC.
I have been in touch with another researcher doing this line who still lives outside
Louisville in Indiana. She has tons of information.
She believes Sarah Hancock is from Baltimore or was living there with parents when she
married. She also believes there were Methodist. I volunteer at Lovely Lane Methodist
Museum and Archives in Baltimore and am going to make a search for their marriage records
there and in Annapolis at MSA.
Am I wasting my time or is this the same Carman family that seems to be around Maryland
although William Cooper Carman moved west.
