Satterfield, John - He was listed as deserted at Baldwin, Mississippi on June 5, 1862.
Satterfield, S. S. - He was listed as discharged as a non-conscript on July 16, 1862 at
Vicksburg, Mississippi.
Shrum, Joel - He was wounded and captured at the Battle of Fishing Creek, Kentucky on
January 19, 1862 and was sent to a prison hospital at Somerset, Kentucky. He escaped with
S. A. Carman when he was able to travel. He was captured by Union forces (home guards) in
Macon County, Tennessee on May 11, 1863 and was sent to Ft. Delaware. He was paroled after
he took the Oath in April 1865.

DEATH OF A NOBLE WOMAN
Mrs. T. O. Carman
Last Friday at her home near Ramer, Mrs. Tennessee O. Carman died of pneumonia following
measela. The remains were laid away in the Adamsville cemetery Saturday evening in the
presence of a large concourse the service at the grave with the aid of her brother, Rev.
Wilson of Mississippi, who made a most touching tribute to the worth of a loving sister.
The following sketch gives the event in the life of this noble woman.
