Here is what I have about Nina. Her Carman lineage can be traced back to England. I
don't have that much on the Hardesty family but have gone back a couple of
generations. John Henry Carman was born in Iowa but he was definintely not Native
American. He was my maternal grandfather's 2nd cousin.

died August 14, 1995 in Shenandoah, Page County, Iowa. She was the daughter of John Henry
Carman and Eldora "Ella" Hardesty. She married (1) Everette Wildbhawn Lyvers
Bet. August 10 - 12, 1929 in Clarinda, Page County, Iowa. He was born August 29, 1901 in
north of Farragut, Fremont County, Iowa, and died January 24, 1970 in Shenandoah, Page
County, Iowa1. He was the son of John William Lyvers and Sarah Ellen Carr.

Nina K. Lyvers, 82, was born Mar. 5, 1913 in Fremont County to John H. and Eldora
Hardesty Carman. She died Aug. 14, 1995 at Iowa City. She was married to Everett Lyvers
Aug. 10, 1929. She was a homemaker and later worked in Shenandoah nurseries; at a care
center and at Brandeis in Omaha. She was a member of Baptist Church American War Mothers
and Rebekah Lodge. Her husband, two sisters and four brothers preceded her in death. She
is survived by daughters, Barbara Ritchey of Iowa City, Wanda Lyvers, Omaha; sons, Leon of
Iowa City, John of Coralville, IA.; 15 grandchildren, 23 greatgrandchildren, and one great
great-grandchild. Graveside rites were held at Riverton Cemetery on Aug. 17 conducted by
the Rev. Merle Melton. A grandson, Thomas Lyvers, was soloist Casket bearers were Bruce
Jones, David Graham, Alan, Mathew, Thomas Lyvers and Rodney Graham. Shull Funeral service
had charge.
