comfort. I do hope you can salvage a few things.
Thanks for telling us about your LDS site findings. I too, think I might
read the directions some day, but they do seem daunting. So far, I was
able to access the catalog once, and have had no luck with names in the
search engine.
All these sites are getting so complicated, I cant find my way around
anymore. The NY Public Library catalog, the Illinois Bounty Land site and
even Rootsweb are difficult for me to find my way back to places I used
to find information.

Thomas Carman of Bloomingdale NJ, built a house there in 1780, and rebuilt

Bloomingdales oldest residence until March 7th, when a tenant occupying the
property left a pot on the stove to answer the phone, and forgot about the
pot. The house is now completely destroyed and my cousin (who is a
Volunteer fireman there) says that it will more than likely be torn down. I
plan a trip up there to try and salvage something from the wreck. I was
sick when I got that news and the picture.....another Carman place, gone up
in smoke! At least I was inside and took pictures of it inside and
